Introduction

By default, when you open My Computer, the drive-letter for the disk drives appear after the drive description, such as:

Local Disk (C: )

Display the drive-letters first

If you wish to display drive-letters first (and then followed by the drive description), this registry edit is required:

> Click Start, Run and type Regedit.exe
> Navigate to the following location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer

In the right-pane, perform the following:

> If not already exists, create a DWORD value named

> ShowDriveLettersFirst

> Double-click ShowDriveLettersFirst and set it's Value data to 4

> Close Regedit.exe
