IPv6: Network Platform for Future Technologies
The new Internet protocol IPv6 is more than just a remedy for the address depletion due to the current IPv4 - it is a smart platform for future technological developments. These include mobile IP, domain name system (DNS), file transfer protocol (FTP), VoIP, and streaming media. IPv6 features autoconfiguration which significantly simplifies network management and turns network devices into plug & play solutions. Also, thanks to the integration of IPsec, IPv6 offers much better security than IPv4
The print server PS26 is the first print server worldwide to support network printing for output devices with HP EIO interface in fiber optic networks (100BaseTX/FX).
PS26 carries the IPv6 Ready Logo Phase 1, which is granted by the IPv6 Forum. This Logo indicates that the device includes IPv6 mandatory core protocols and is able to interoperate with other IPv6 implementations. The print server is also compatible with the currently predominant IPv4.
Highlights:
> IPv6-enabled, compatible with IPv4
> For eavesdropping-secure fiber-to-the-desk (FTTD) solutions
> Extremely fast printing with HTTPs encryption
> Full support of WebJetAdmin
> Support of ThinPrint SSL encryption with .print client v6.2
> Unequalled OS support for Windows, Mac OS, Linux, and Novell
> Encompassing security package including authentication, encryption, and certificates
